Ingles Performance wraps up a solid 2016-17 season on ISOC National series Hunter Patenaude earns Sport championship

PHOENIX, NY (March 21, 2017) - One of the northeast's top snowmobile race teams have completed another busy season, as the International Series of Champions (ISOC) concluded its 2016-17 AMSOIL Championship Snocross (ACS) campaign at the Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

Multi-time champions Ingles Performance raced full-time on the highly-competitive ACS circuit all winter, delivering final round wins, podium finishes and a class championship to Ski-doo and their many other valued marketing partners.

Highlighting the 2016-17 season was Hunter Patenaude's impressive run to the Sports class championship. His intense off-season training regimen last summer paid big dividends, as he competed with amazing consistency all season. Hunter won in Duluth, MN, Deadwood, SD, Salamanca, NY, Mt. Pleasant, MI, Dubuque, IA, and swept the finals in Lake Geneva to claim seven victories in 16 starts.

"Hunter's championship and wins in ISOC's difficult Sports National class were very impressive," team co-owner Robin Ingles said. "He was up against some very stiff competition. Leo put in several solid runs over the winter, as well, and Danny Poirier did well to finish ninth in points against all those factory-backed kids in Pro Lite. We're so proud of what these athletes accomplished. They worked hard all season long."

Poirier, 37, of St. Theodore, QC, officially announced his retirement from snocross after a stellar career on Friday, highlighted by six Pro titles in East Coast Snocross competition.

"Mike and I were honored and proud to have Danny on our team," Ingles added. "He was a great mentor to the Patenaude brothers; they really learned a lot from him. None of us who followed his career will ever forget the man Jim King so aptly-nicknamed “The Canadian Blast.” We wish Dan the very best of luck in his next adventure."

Poirier's career will go down in the record books. In March of 2016, he locked up his third consecutive and sixth career ECS Pro title (2004, 2009, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016). From the days when he battled against fellow Quebec native Simon Belzile to his more recent races with Mathieu Morin, Poirier was always a thrill to watch.

Leo Patenaude split his season between Pro Lite in ISOC and the Pro classes in ECS. He qualified for the final often against factory-backed riders on the National tour, and his results in regional racing were impressive, finishing first or second in five out of six Pro finals.
